Tetrahedron VIII

David Moxey and Joaquim Peiró (Imperial College London) organised Tetrahedron VIII, held from 13 to 15 July in the City and Guilds Building at Imperial’s South Kensington campus. The series has been running since 2005, when the first was held in Berlin, and this is its first time in London. It brings together the people who build meshing technology across academia, national laboratories and commercial CAD and CAE vendors.

Three days covered mesh generation and adaptation, unstructured and high-order meshes, parallel meshing, and the industrial problems that drive all of it. Keynotes came from Per-Olof Persson (UC Berkeley), Jessica Zhang (Carnegie Mellon), Xevi Roca (Barcelona Supercomputing Center), Marcel Campen (Paderborn) and Henry Bucklow (ITI), with a further thirteen invited talks including speakers from Los Alamos National Laboratory, the UK Atomic Energy Authority and Siemens.
