New paper on sliding geometries in Journal of Computational Physics
Simulating parts that rotate or translate, such as rotors and pressure cascades, means moving the mesh and bridging the non-conformal interface between the static and moving regions without losing accuracy. In a new paper in Journal of Computational Physics, M. Lahooti, E. Laughton, J. Ye, C. D. Cantwell and D. Moxey apply a point-to-point interpolation technique within the high-order discontinuous Galerkin method, which can handle interfaces that are difficult for other interpolation approaches.
